中国古代的宇宙观，起源於春秋战国的百家争鸣。秦以后的一千多年，在它们的基础上，有衍生许多支系，后来的浑天说以其解释天象的优势，取代了盖天说，成为主要观念。
The ancient Chinese cosmology originated in the Spring and Autumn during the Warring States Periods. However, there are many arguments on this cosmology. After Qin dynasty, there are many type of derivatives – the book of “later said” “浑天说” managed to supersede the interpretation and the advantages of astronomical studies, replacing the “celestial dome” “盖天说” and became the main concept of research.
天文就是天象，天文上的赤道，并非地球的赤道，它是地球向外延伸，与地球相交形成的大圆环，叫做《天赤道》，中国古代天文学家把包括天赤道在内的范围较宽的一条恆星带由西往东，分成二十八个天区，这些天区有专门的术语，叫做《宿》，
共计《二十八宿》,也就是把黄道（太陽和月亮所經天区）的恒星分成二十八个星座，称为《二十八宿》：四方各有七宿，以北极星为中心，四方各以星宿分布的形状用四禽之象称谓：
Astronomy on the celestial equator is to be read from the earth point of view extending outwards. The intersection of the ring is called the “celestial equator”. The ancient Chinese astronomers would include the wider of a stellar band from west to east, called “Sectors”, a total of “28 constellations”. The ecliptic (the sun and the moon) would move into the “28 constellations” sectors.
东蒼龍,包含角、亢、氐、房、心、尾、箕等七个宿。
The Eastern Constellation (Green Dragon) consists of Horn, Neck, Base/Root, Room, Heart, Tail and Sieve/ Winnowing basket.
北玄武，包括斗、牛、女、虚、危、室、壁等七个宿。
The Northern Constellation (Black Turtle) consists of Dipper, Ox herd boy, Maiden, Void, Danger/Rooftop, House and Wall.
白虎，包括奎、婁、胃、昂、畢、觜、参等七个宿。
The Western Constellation (White Tiger) consists of Astride, Mound, Stomach, Pleiades, Net, Beak and Crossing.
南朱雀，包括井，鬼、柳、星、張、翼、軫等七个宿。
The Southern Constellation (Red Phoenix) consists of Well, Ghost, Willow, (Seven) Stars, Spread, Wings and Carriage seat.
二十八宿的本义应该是月亮运行中的二十八个宿营地。
The meaning of 28 constellations is the appearing of the moon in the path of the 28 mansions.
天文誌曰：星乃天之經，宿乃天之纬，二十八宿，迭运循环，周流不已，虚者居七宿之中星，天傾西北，北极居天之中，所以仲春月之虚在北，则井至七宿，见在南方。仲夏之月，虚转东，角至箕七宿，照出在南方之位。仲秋月即转南，则斗至壁七宿，见在南方。仲冬之月，虚转西，奎至参七宿之南方也。故往来循环无有停息，而四时之用，各有其时，故生生拘忌，见凶宿不用，合在吉星亦美。
Classical records of “Tian Wen Zhi” states: Stars on a horizon, sectors of the stars on a vertical, 28 constellations appear on different sectors endlessly. “Void” occurs in the centre of the “Northern Black Turtle” inclining to the north-west. Northern grid remains at the heavenly center. During Spring Equinox “Void” appears at the northern grid whereas the – Well, Ghost, Willow, (Seven) Stars, Spread, Wings and Carriage seat appears at the Southern grid. During Summer Solstice, “Void” appears at the east thus appearing at the location of Eastern Green Dragon. During Autumn Equinox, “Void” appears at the Western Grid remains at the Southern Red Phoenix. Winter Solstice, “Void” appears at the west grid remains at the Western White Tiger. The endless cycle of the stars always appear at different time grid, thus decide on the auspicious time factor of usage.
二十八宿在风水择日上的运用是时间与空间的调和,透过对于宇宙的某种运行规律的认知，来决定外在环境对风水的可能性变化。

在风水择日上的运用：
Applications of Date Selection:
日曜中元 ，眾煞濳藏宜立舍
日曜星房虚昂四宿，四太陽禽。中元，日中之時，大忌埋葬，开门最利，起造立倉，如遇夜间时，则日晦无光。如用日间时，眾煞藏形，起造大吉。
(Seven) Stars, Room, Void, Pleiades are to be used on daytime. During noon it forbids bury, auspicious for ground breaking and moving in. All bad will subdue, if adhere to the following.
月輝遍野，諸星顕露利安塋
月心危畢張四宿，四太陰禽。宜用夜間之時，值望前後謂之月有光輝，大利安塋，如用日間之時，或值朔前，則月晦无光，非鎮獨安塋不利，諸事皆不吉。
Heart, Danger/Rooftop, Net, Spread are too be used on nighttime. Appearing of moonlight during night will be auspicious for burial. If adhere to the following will be auspicious.
燥宿葬埋為吉，威星征伐稱良
燥宿翌尾室觜四火禽，威即亢牛婁鬼四金禽。凡遇四火禽，惟埋葬最吉，如造屋開門苫蓋，主有火災。凡遇四金禽，惟利上任出征。空手求财，作灶出行商販諸事。
Wings, Tail, Room and Beak – auspicious for burial, not for renovations or house moving, otherwise fire disaster will occur.
Neck, Ox herd boy, Mound, Ghost – auspicious for travel, signing contract or installing of stove.
文明則四海揚名，懦弱則一家難保，怒用官符即禍，喜操月建生災
角斗奎井四宿，四木禽，乃文明之象，名曰文宿，諸用之大吉，定出揚名顕逹之人。箕壁参軫四宿属水，名曰弱宿，諸事忌用，如誤用之，主被陷破家。
Horn, Dipper, Astride, Well – renown and honorable stars, if use wisely it will enhance reputations.
Sieve/ Winnowing basket，wall, Crossing, Carriage seat – undesired stars.
氐女胃柳四宿属土，名曰怒宿，凡造葬上官赴任用之，主官符瘟疫，損丁不吉。虚昂星房四宿太陽禽，名曰喜宿。如加月建，諸禍畢集，架造以太陽稱吉，若逢月建宜深忌之。
Base/Root, Maiden, Stomach, Willow (anger stars)- not for burial and start of business or work.
Void, Pleiades, (Seven) Star, Room (happiness star) – preferably in the hours of daylight.
凡二十八宿择日得斗首五气，值时令得位，格局即吉,加上寶義専三日用之必称情。
